Adjustable Mattress Base

The mattress base can be placed in a choice of 3 positions the highest position giving easy access to the young baby, the drop side will lower easily to protect the new mothers back reducing the bending. Once baby starts to sit and move around the base is lowered to the central position, leaving the lowest position for when the child is standing and wanting to escape!

Drop Side

To give easy access to baby the side can be raised and lowered easily without the need for both hands. The cot side is simply raised slightly, then press your leg against the lower part this will allow the side to lower fully. The drop side action is very smooth so can be achieved with disturbing baby.

The end panels are of a solid construction this is perfect if you are planning to sleep baby at the foot of the cot in the recommended 'feet to foot' position. This helps to prevent the baby from being able to wriggle under the covers possibly becoming overheated. The side bars are a simple flat design. The sides are topped with a teething guard preventing the cot becoming damaged when the child starts to teethe.

The Arlo cotbed comes in a choice of finish to complement the nursery Walnut or a rich Honey Pine.

Junior Bed

When the toddler starts to escape from the cot it is time to convert the Arlo to the junior bed, this is very easy to achieve with both sides and the bottom section of both the head and foot end being removed. This reveals a stylish junior bed with the head and foot end in perfect proportion (many cotbeds leave a full cot height head board). The mattress and bedding that are familiar to the toddler can remain in use helping with the transition to the 'big person's' bed. The junior bed remains useful until the child is around 5 years of age, or until it is necessary to be changed back into a cot for another baby, so it is important to keep all the fittings safe.

Day bed / sofa

The Arlo has passed the standard to be used as a daybed or sofa, this is where one side remains in place allowing a comfortable place for story times to be shared. This is something that you would normally get with a sleigh bed at a much higher price tag.

Pine

The New Zealand Pine wood used comes from a sustainable source and now for every item of furniture purchased from the Cosatto range, Cosattto have promised to plant a tree which will then be nurtured and cared for at least 30 years.

The cot bed requires a 140 x 69cm mattress. We have 2 different options of mattresses available.

The Foam Mattress is made with a superior grade foam, giving excellent comfortable support for your baby. It has an easy clean cover and is fully air permeable and reversible.

The Sprung Mattress is a luxurious fully sprung mattress that has been designed to provide healthy, properly supported sleep. It has all the same features as the Foam Mattress but the core of the mattress is made of a high-quality mini-bonnell spring unit.
